Winter Solstice

Wait in the darkness
Do not rush and bump into walls blindly.

Wait,
until the slow turning of the world
reveals the crack of Light
that is your doorway,
so slim it is barely visible
but you know it is yours.

Wait,
knowing the inexorable turning
will bring this to you
in its time.

Wait,
and do the quiet holy things
that are to be done in darkness

breathing
humming
touching
resting
loving
growing
weeping

Wait, and your time will come.

Then everything within you
will explode towards that Light
and the world will recognize you.
